I can no longer deny the fact that I need to be eating healthier. While I have made a lot of adjustments to my diet this past year, one thing remains. I do not have a very healthy breakfast. I blame some really old habits I grew up with out on a farm. Every morning we had steak, sausage, pancakes, eggs, and bacon. So much meat and cholesterol! As you can imagine, these days my doctor is always on my rear about how bad my levels are. It’s time to make a change.
There’s just one problem, really. I’m so adjusted to this type of breakfast that I have no idea how filling a recipes for healthier breakfast would be. Should I even bother? I have tried have cereal, oatmeal, juice, wheat toast, eggs, and fresh fruit like everyone says I should try. It fills me up for a couple of hours, but then suddenly I’m hungry again way before lunch. Since I work in an office, I can’t just step out for a healthy snack. It’s really infringing in my life.
I know what you’re going to say – that I should add more food to my breakfast. Maybe oatmeal and fruit. I have tried that and it hasn’t made any difference. It’s very frustrating because obviously breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I need to make sure I’m eating enough. Sometimes I get hunger headaches in the middle of the morning while I am at work. I can’t live like this any longer!
I really don’t want to return to my old habits of eating a lot of meat products for breakfast. That’s not good for my health, I’m looking for quality Vegetarian recipes, it’s expensive, and I’m pretty sure my doctor would just know and always harass me over the phone. So what should I do?
I need to find some healthy breakfast recipes. I just don’t know where to start looking. Everything I’ve found is just the same ol’ same ol’, and I know it won’t be enough. What do you like to eat that’s filling and nutritious? This is the intersection that I am having the most trouble with. I don’t like being hungry two hours later when I am at work.
Of course I will keep looking, but in the mean time I am breaking out the turkey bacon and hoping for the best. Please don’t tell me that this stuff is bad for me… My friend recommends Meal Planner Pro because apparently they offer some of the best meal planning software and advice on the market, so hopefully they’ll have a solution to my breakfast issues.
